Key Players: Wendy Passmore - Godfrey

Wendy Passmore-Godfrey is delighted with the opportunity to develop programming for the multi-disciplinary Creative Kids Museum. She recently joined the Creative Kids Museum as Program Coordinator after successfully founding the WP Puppet Theatre Society in 1991 and serving as Artistic Director for the professional touring puppet theatre. A large part of Wendy's work involved the production and performance of original multi-discipline puppet shows across Canada and internationally.

Wendy has been involved in arts education for more than 20 years in both school and community settings, and in both “pure” art and “learning through the arts” models. Wendy has repeatedly seen how arts experiences allow children to communicate and think in different ways and how the arts provide windows for curiosity and compassion in children.

Wendy chose to become involved with the Creative Kids Museum for the opportunity to explore a variety of art forms and to share her enthusiasm and curiosity for art with other equally excited individuals. She believes in the project because “the Creative Kids Museum is a wonderfully exciting opportunity to promote the value of creative thinking. Creative thinking is not limited to the arts, but it's certainly a fantastic way to encourage it.”

Wendy has first-hand knowledge of how strong and vibrant Calgary's arts community is and she expects the Creative Kids Museum to become an umbrella for the arts community and a place where children can experiment and see what disciplines they might like to spend more time on. Furthermore, Wendy sees the Creative Kids Museum as a facility that promotes and encourages family learning - a place where everyone can get involved.
