GUIDED PROJECTS FOR DIVISION TWO STUDENTS AT CKM

The Creative Kids Museum (CKM), like any art project, provides learning opportunities on many levels. While a young child undertakes learning through play, an adult is able to suggest other explorations, provide encouragement and become ‘an audience’.

Older children visiting CKM are capable of considering the underlying art concepts and principles presented in the Museum. In this way these students can be focused and engaged during their visit.

We encourage teachers to make plans for their Division Two students, but are also pleased to provide the following guided projects that make connections to the Alberta Education art curriculum.

Teachers may:

  • Click here to view guided projects
  • Choose all or some of the activities and provide students with the supplies for their field trip.

or

  • Teachers may use the kits provided by the Creative Kids Museum with activities and supplies on the day of your field trip.  Each kit contains:
    • 12 laminated drawing activities i.e.: gesture drawing, color theory, sequences, tessellations and more linked to the Alberta Art Curriculum.
    • Supplies and tools for 8 students.
  • Parent volunteers must be involved in supervising – there are enough supplies for eight students in each kit. Kits need to be signed out from and returned to Creative Kids Museum Discovery Leaders.
