FAQ

1. How do I obtain a school program guide 2007-2008?
You may view or download & print the School Program Guide from our webpage at this link. Or, to be put on our mailing list, please email us.

2. What time does the Creative Kids Museum open?
Doors open at 8:45 am. Please do not plan to arrive prior to 8:45am because there is no indoor waiting area.

3. When is payment due? Can we be invoiced?
Full payment is due at time of visit at the Front Desk. The Creative Kids Museum does not send invoices. If cash or a school cheque is not available, a personal credit card may be used for payment. Cheques should be made payable to the Calgary Science Centre Society.

4. How many volunteer adults can come?
We recommend one adult per 4 students for preschool/ECS, one adult for five students for grades 1-4 and one adult for eight students of grades 5 & up. Within this ratio adult supervisors are charged $1.00 per person. Teachers are not charged for any programs during a school visit.

5. What do we do if changes in the quantity of students or adults occur after a booking is made?
Small changes in numbers can be accommodated upon arrival. For large changes of quantity, please contact our school booking staff at 268-8311 to ensure we can accommodate extra individuals in our program spaces.

6. Is there somewhere to store student backpacks?
We have coat hooks and containers in the front area where these items may be left. Please do not bring valuables on your visit, as the Creative Kids Museum is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

7. Are lunchrooms available?
Lunchrooms are available on a first come, first serve basis.  We offer a lunchroom at half-hour timeslots at no additional cost. We ask that groups tidy up after themselves. Lunchrooms must be requested at time of booking.

8. How long may our group stay?
We recommend one hour for exploring our exhibits, unless you have prepared enrichment activities for your students.

9. What happens if our group is late?
Refunds are not available for parts of programs missed due to late arrivals.

10. How much notice is required for cancellations?
Two weeks notice by phone 268-8311 or fax 268-8337 is required for the cancellation of any program. A late cancellation fee of $50.00 per group will be charged to the school if proper notice is not given.

11. Where do buses park?
Buses may park on 11th Street in front of the TELUS World of Science-Calgary or in the far back parking lot for no charge.

12. How much is parking for regular vehicles?
Parking is $1.25/hour or portion thereof up to $5.00 for 6 hours.

Our parking lot is maintained by the Calgary Parking Authority and operation of this lot provides funds to maintain Millenium Park and the TELUS World of Science & Creative Kids Museum.
